Werner E. Tietjen, P.E. is the founding principal of Tietjen & Venegas Consulting Engineers, PLLC. He founded Werner E. Tietjen, P.E. Consulting Engineer in 1981 and has tirelessly worked ever since to establish a pristine reputation as one of the top MEP consulting engineers in the area. Werner has extensive knowledge and expertise in all aspects of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection design. His ability to combine big picture conceptual planning with highly detailed, practical design is fundamental to the success of his projects and of the firm as a whole.

Werner consistently works to pass on his vast knowledge and expertise to all members of his staff. He has thus developed a group of engineers who consistently adhere to the same high standards that has enabled this firm to successfully deliver thousands of exceptional projects over the past few decades.

Prior to founding Werner E. Tietjen, P.E., Werner was partner and head of the HVAC department at the firm Shiffman and Tietjen. He also served as Senior Engineer for General Foods Corporation and as a mechanical engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

EDISON VENEGAS, P.E., LEED AP

Edison Venegas, P.E. began working for Werner E. Tietjen, P.E. in 2006 as a junior mechanical engineer and quickly displayed exceptional acumen for the trade. He rapidly progressed to become Werner’s right-hand man. This naturally led to a partnership and the establishment of Tietjen & Venegas Consulting Engineers in early 2018.

Edison has extensive experience in all aspects of HVAC design as well as experience in Fire Protection and Plumbing design, enabling him to manage and coordinate effectively between all trades.

Edison has prior experience working for a structural engineer as well as for mechanical contractors, working hands-on in the field. This varied and practical experience enables Edison to display a rare ability to develop truly practical designs and solutions that exceed clients’ expectations. His hands-on field experience greatly enhances his ability to communicate effectively with contractors and clients to ensure that projects go smoothly and change orders are minimized or eliminated.

Edison insists that all members of the firm adhere to the same level of quality that he and Werner have established over the years. His insistence that all engineers “design as if they were going to install it” has created a culture of truly practical engineering that is rarely seen to such a high degree.

Community Service

Edison currently serves on the building committee of the Rye YMCA and devotes much time and expertise to their facility.

Edison is currently serving on The Carver Center Facilities Committee and assists in the management of all mechanical and electrical systems.

Edison is the founder of a non-profit, Project Ecuador, that devotes much time and resources to assisting under-privileged families in rural Ecuador, including building homes and donating materials and technologies to schools.


DAVID MURATORE, LEED GA
Senior Electrical Engineer

David Muratore is our senior Electrical Engineer and has been with our firm since 2004. David is responsible for design and construction administration for all aspects of Electrical engineering including power, lighting design and fire alarm. His experience is wide ranging, from mission critical facilities at AT&T, Verizon and AOL to complicated renovations of historical buildings. David values exceptional coordination and communication between all members of the design team and the client.

David’s wide-ranging expertise enables seamless coordination between lighting design, power requirements including HVAC power, standby emergency power generation and complete fire alarm systems.

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College.

 

Community Service

David volunteers at his local SPCA.

David has assisted on numerous projects for the Rye YMCA and Rye Free Reading Room.


ALEXANDER DOONG, P.E., LEED AP
Mechanical Engineer

Alexander Doong, P.E. has been with this firm since he graduated college and has developed an extensive knowledge of Plumbing and Fire Protection systems as well as HVAC system design. Alex leads our Plumbing and Fire Protection division and has detailed knowledge and understanding of codes and regulations for a large variety of complex systems and applications. He has experience designing systems for buildings ranging from large scale commercial facilities to high end historical buildings to boutique multi-family residences. Alex also has extensive experience in project management and construction administration and has developed a strong ability to communicate effectively with all members of the design and construction team to help our projects to run smoothly, on-budget and on-time. Alex’s additional experience in HVAC design gives him the depth and understanding to seamlessly coordinate between all trades and design practical solutions to the toughest challenges.

Alex is also a LEED Accredited Professional with extensive experience working on LEED Projects throughout the tri-state area including LEED Platinum certified projects.

Community Service

Alex has worked extensively with the Rye YMCA to assist in design and project management for various facility improvements as well as volunteering for charity events hosted by the YMCA.


NOAH THOMAS
Electrical Engineer

Noah Thomas joined our team after graduating from SUNY Maritime College. Noah is involved in all aspects of Electrical Design and has developed a broad and well-rounded knowledge base. His attention to detail and thoroughness is highly valued by all who work with him.

Noah has risen to become very familiar with well-coordinated in Electrical designs. He provides the engineering part of design for lighting & fire alarm systems on many of our projects. His knowledge and input of these aspects of design help to provide for an overall efficient electrical design. He has assisted on the design of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems to improve his knowledge of overall MEP systems. He handles the equipment incentives and rebates for all trades on all of our projects.

Noah has assisted in engineering services for The Carver Center in Port Chester, New York and the Rye YMCA.

Noah regularly volunteers at St. Mary’s Orthodox Church participating in soup kitchens, meals for the elderly, and toy and food drives.


KEVIN REYES
Electrical Engineer

Kevin Reyes began his career at Tietjen & Venegas as a college intern and soon after graduating SUNY Maritime College joined our team. Kevin is involved in all aspects of Electrical Design. Using the fundamentals learned during his education and his internship experience he’s been able to provide valuable assistance to our senior staff with the design of Electrical systems.

Kevin’s primary focus has been designing electrical systems including power, lighting, and fire alarm plans and specifications. He is responsible for many of the electrical and mechanical load calculations of several projects. He handles the equipment incentives and rebates for all trades on all of our projects.
